LC: Bobcats Topple Fuego 10-0
Butte United’s Bobcats U18 girls team beat the Livingston Fuego 10-0. Julie Haselton and Sam Conroy each scored 2 goals. Additional goals were scored by Serena Reynolds, Shae Sick, Brenda Lopez, Crystal Torres, Tori Martin, and Cydney Cone. JoJo Smyth notched 3 assists, Sick had 2, and Conroy and Kati Brown each had an assist. Goal keepers Cone and Haselton were each credited with a save.
Bobcats take 2nd Place
The Club's flagship girls team, the U18 girls Bobcats, brought home the metal this weekend by taking 2nd place championship at the El Dorado Shootout. It was a physcial, well played final, but the 'Cats lost 0-1 against the home El Dorado team. Keeper Cydney Cone is credited with 1 save that match. The tournament started on Saturday with the match against Novato, where the Bobcats lost 1-2. The lone goal was scored by Kati Brown with an assist from Shae Sick. Keeper Cone is credited with 3 saves that match. That afternoon the Bobcats beat Marin FC 3-1, with 2 goals from Crystal Torres and 1 from Brown. Assists were from Brown, Julie Haselton, and JoJo Smyth. Keeper Cone had 2 saves. The Bobcats won Sunday's match against Davis 3-0. Haselton scored 2 goals, and Sam Conroy scored the third. Conroy also had 2 assists and Cone was credited with 2 saves.
Butte United's Youngest Team take Championship 2 Weeks in a Row

Butte United's youngest team, our boys U9 Dynamite, took championship two weekends in a row--first at the CASA Adidas and then at the El Dorado Hills Soccerfest on August 22. At the CASA, the boys won the championship match 3-2 against Bay Oaks and then at the Soccerfest they won 2-1 defeating Elk Grove Legends. Congratulations Coaches Rob Hasten and Jorge Jimenez and all of the boys!
Lady Dragons Capture 2nd Place

Lady Dragons, our U13 girls team captured second place in the Skunk Classic Mendocino Coast Soccer Tournament in Fort Bragg on August 22. The Dragons tied the Solano Storm 1-1 and defeated Placer. In the Championship match, they lost to the Santa Rosa Aftershocks 0-1. Elaina Noble and Lili Salinas each notched two goals, and Nicole Cox, Neala Cronin and Allyce Warren added one goal each. Olivia Leiker, Madeline Mikles, Salinas and Sharlotte Sheffield had assists.
Heat Turns it on at Tournaments Taking 2nd and 3rd
Butte United's Heat, our U10 boys team, took second at the Santa Cruz Breakers Cup at the end of July. They beat Sacramento United Attack, Elk Grove Energy and Fair Oaks Arsenal along the way to the final and lost to Inter Rage Academy Strikers in the final to claim 2nd place.
Next the Heat took 3rd place in Sacramento at the Boca CASA Champions Cup on August 15 . They went 2-1, losing to El Dorado Crew Azzuri. The Heat beat FCA Seahawks and Manteca MFC 01 in the other 2 games.
The Sol Shine with Championship
Butte United's U10 Girls team, The Sol, went undefeated at the El Doradao Hills Soccer fest on Augst 21/22, bringing home 1st place championship.

The boys U10 Cobras took 3rd place at the El Dorado Hills Soccerfest on August 22. They played 4 games over the 2 day tournament. They were lead in scoring by Pedro Caldera and Gannon Agnew who scored 2 goals each. Kobe Hood also scored one for the Cobras. Reed Sheffield lead the team in assists. The defense was lead by Eli Thomas, Liam Davis and Peter Andrews. Justin Chambers shined as the primary goalie in the tournament while Eli Thomas, Kyle Johnson and Gannon Agnew also did well in goal.
The Butte United Coyotes U-11 boys traveled to the Cherry Island Soccer Complex and earned second place metals at the El Dorado Shootout. On Saturday the Coyotes posted a dominating 3-0 win over the Manteca Rangers before taking a tough 1-0 loss to the strong El Dorado Azzuri. On Sunday they had a fierce battle with the River City United coming up with a late goal that gave them a 1-1 tie. Since the game was a semi-final it moved on to penalty kicks and the Coyote strikers calmly stuck 4 balls in the back of the net for a 5-3 win. The final was a rematch against El Dorado and despite scoring 2 goals in the second half they couldn't contain the Azzuri attack and fell 5-2.
In the 4 games, Christian Valles scored his first 2 goals as a Butte United Coyote while Zach McLaughlin, Greg Neuman, Rory Monninger and Chris Kurung scored one each. Monninger also recorded 2 assists. Kellen Pierce, Jack Hall, Jaime Martinez and Hayes Telleson played outstanding defense, Lucas Lantz made a solid contribution in the attack and Cody Billson and Valles combined to record 29 saves and the shutout.
Butte United Legacy U16 girls team took 4th place at the Woodland Classic. The first game was a 0-0 tie against Redding Misfit Bandits. This was the debut of the 2010 Legacy, where keeper Kendall Howell was credited with a shutout and solid play all weekend. The Legacy took the second game 2-0 against Woodland United. Two goals were notched by Shelby Hiler with assists from Mallory Nelson and Laney Nelson. Sunday’s morning game against Elk Grove Shock belonged to the Legacy all with way, with the final score of 4-0. The girls took 17 shots on goal the first half alone. Goals were socred by Mallory Nelson, with an assist from Hiler, Hannah Mikles, Jennifer Wellman, and Lexi Martinez with an assist from Mikles. The consolation match was a long 4- hour break away against Land Park Dragonflies. Legacy lost 4-2. Hiler scored the first goal with an assist from Brittany Billson and Laney Nelson scored the 2nd goal with an assist from Mikles.
The Crew, Butte United's U13 boys team, played their first tournament of the 2010 season at the El Dorado Hills Shootout on August 21/22 and came home with 3rd place. Well done!
