About The Club

The Butte United Soccer Club is the Competitive Club for the Butte Youth Soccer League. BYSL includes Butte and Glenn Counties in Northern California. We are affiliated with the California Youth Soccer Association - North, District VI and the United States Soccer Federation.

Advanced players from all communities within BYSL are encouraged to try out for our Division I and Division III teams. Butte United teams compete in the District VI Playing League as well as tournaments throughout the state and beyond. The Playing League ranges from Chico to Elk Grove, and from Fairfield to Placer County. Occasionally a team from a neighboring District will be invited to compete in the District VI Playing League so teams might travel to Redding to the north or Stockton to the south.

Many of our players go on to play High School and College Soccer.

Under 10 through under 19 teams are formed for both boys and girls. Tryouts begin each spring in March. League play begins in September, but teams often elect to attend tournaments in summer.

Club Philosophy

The Butte United Soccer Club is organized to provide advanced players from The Butte Youth Soccer League an opportunity to play at the competitive level. It is our objective to provide the best possible coaches and trainers in an effort to help every player reach their individual potential and meet their soccer goals.

Cost

The Club's Player Registration fee is $160.00. This covers Insurance, Fees paid to the CYSA and the Playing League, Club Equipment, Practice and Game Fields, and Referees.

Uniforms cost about $95.00 and normaly are used for at least two years.

In addition, each team will have a player assessment to cover the cost of entering tournaments, equipment, and in some cases, a paid coach or trainer. Assessments range from $50.00 to $300.00 per year.

Players and families should also expect additional expenses when traveling to games and tournaments plus housing at tournaments.

Teams are welcome to use fundraising to offset any or all of the above expenses.

The Club does some fundraising to provide a limited number of player Scholarships.

The Club is run entirely by volunteers. Board Members are reimbursed for expenses.
