Report |
|
1.
No financial
report, presented a record of deposits.
We appear to be missing registration payments from many players. We need to have parents pay or make
arrangements for payment. Registrar
will contact coaches to let them know who has not paid once Chris gives her a
report of payments received. Depots
made include the following: $960, 1920, 900, 9840, 1800. 2.
Two heat
players signed up and paid last year, but did not play. They requested that their payment last year
be applied to this year’s league play.
Their was a motion that was seconded to extend last year’s
registration fees to this year with a separate payment of $20 to District
fees. Motion was approved. 3.
There were
checks from 2006 found when the Club House was cleaned out. The Registrar is contacting the parents to
request that they issue a new check. 4.
It was
estimated that if everyone paid registration fees that the Club would collect
$27,400. |

1.
Registration of all teams is completed, except for adds and drops 2.
We should look into accepting Visa/MC at next year’s registration. |

1.
There was discussion about uniform payment when a player quits before
the league season begins. It was
decided that the registration fee is collected before the uniform is ordered
and the player quits after the uniform is ordered, that the registration fee
would cover the cost of the uniform.
No refund. No refund will be
made if registration fee is collected after June 1. 2.
The Board decided to offer Bob Garner the position of interim Club Treasurer
and offer Jorge Jimenez the position of interim Assistant Club
Treasurer. Secretary will set up a
meeting with President, Registrar, VP Admin, General Manager to go over
expectations and first duties. 3.
Mike Hernandez, VP Administration will be given signature authority on
the Club’s checking account. 4.
Uniforms will be in this week.
Coaches and team managers need to make sure that every returning
player has a uniform. 5.
Discussion of payroll services and the expense, which would include the
cost to process each paycheck as well as worker’s compensation and all
taxes. 6.
Secretary presented several options to treating coaches as employees,
showing examples of clubs that treat coaches as contract employees. 7.
Bruce Sillars said that the California Deputy Labor Commissioner stated
that the State and the IRS made a determination that coaches are employees
and not contractors. 8.
There was much discussion about whether Butte United coaches are
employees of the club or contractors.
No conclusion was reached.
There was a motion that was seconded and approved for 2008 season to
pay trainers and coaches as independent contractors, hire an attorney to
draft a contract that will be used by all BUSC teams. The Treasurer will work with the bookkeeper
to prepare 1099s for coaches. 9.
Practice -- teams are getting
too loud and taking up too much space.
Coaches need to not yell and be cognizant of others sharing the field. They were requested not to practice with
players from other teams unless they have the medical release in their
possession and not to practice with other adults unless they have a
disclosure form completed. 10. Wildwood is being mown on
Mondays and Thursdays and they are working on the sprinklers and gophers. 11. General Managers said that
are talking about compressing the field and putting down dand to do a “veri
slcing” and will need spreading equipment.
12. Coaches need to lock the
equipment shed properly – the lock gets put up inside the box. Keep it shut during practices so that kids
stay out of it. 13. LEAVE THE CLUB HOUSE CLEAN
– Several people have graciously cleaned it, again, and coaches and others
need to put things away and leave it neat when they are done practicing. 14. Water in the fridge is for
coaches – not for players (unless there is a dehydration emergency…) 15. There is a mandatory metro
meeting where coaches will get their schedules. |
